Days After Rashida Tlaib Insults Israel – Republican Leader Executes Power Move Against Her
[ad_1]
In the days following the Hamas-led attack on Israel, progressives issued shocking statements. Many leftists online voiced support for those who attacked the free nation. They seemed to blame Israel for the attack, turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed by Hamas.
That includes leaders in Washington. The overwhelming majority of lawmakers, both Republican and Democrat, condemned Hamas and voiced support for Israel.
But a few far-left Democrats have not. One of them, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, issued a statement that appeared to blame Israel. She called the nation an “apartheid state” and ignored reporters who asked her about the murder of helpless civilians. Now, one Republican in Congress is pushing back.
From Fox News:
Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., plans to introduce a resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., over her “long history of making anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks.” […]“There is no moral equivalence between Israel defending itself and Hamas attacking innocent Israeli civilians. Tlaib’s long history of anti-Semitic tropes and blatant anti-Jewish propaganda is both disturbing and evil – and should have no place in the halls of Congress,” he added.
Rep. Jack Bergman of Michigan introduced a measure to censure Rep. Tlaib over her response to the Hamas-led attack on Israel. The Republican accused Tlaib of having a “long history of making anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks.”
Users pointed out that, after the Hamas attack, Tlaib had a Palestinian flag outside her office in Congress. The flag had been up since January, but people asked why she had not removed it after the events of the weekend.
Video surfaced of Tlaib ignoring reporters who asked her about the attacks. They wanted her to respond to reports and footage of the carnage wrought by the terrorists on helpless civilians. In the video, Tlaib appears to refuse to respond.
Tlaib is one of several leftists who have appeared to blame Israel for the attacks. Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have been held in New York and other parts of the world. It is unclear if these people support only the Palestinian people or the terrorist network Hamas (the group has long been designated a terror network by the U.S. government).
Many users online have spread misinformation about Israel and Hamas. Some have propagated arguments used by Hamas to justify the horrific attacks. It is unclear if Tlaib will respond to the censure news or apologize for her previous statements.
