Minutes After Biden Celebrates Disabilities Law – White House Humiliated on Live TV
This week, the Biden administration celebrated the passing of the Americans With Disabilities Act. This bill was signed into law by President Bush in 1990. It prevents businesses from discriminating against Americans with disabilities.
The law has resulted in companies being required to accommodate employees with disabilities. It also led to the creation of ramps and other features in government buildings to help those in wheelchairs, crutches, etc.
On the same day Joe Biden celebrated this law, reporters questioned his press secretary. They pointed out that the administration was not providing seats for disabled journalists. This is how Jean-Pierre responded.
From Fox News:
A reporter’s question about having no seat for disabled journalists in the press briefing room was ignored by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday…“Karine, about disability. There’s no seat here in this room for disabled journalists,” the reporter remarked…
Jean-Pierre ignored the comment…
The reporter again said, “This room has no seat for a handicapped journalist,” as the press secretary left the podium at the end of the briefing and was ignored.
Several times during a recent presser, a reporter asked why the White House was no providing a seat for a disabled journalist. Despite Biden just praising the ADA, his press secretary ignored the question. When the reporter asked it again, Jean-Pierre simply left the room.
This appears to be a peculiar response from a liberal administration. Most Americans believe that, because the mainstream media has an apparently liberal bias, a Democrat administration is eager to interact with it.
That has not been the case with the Biden administration. On numerous occasions, the White House press secretary has appeared combative with the mainstream media. Both of Biden’s press secretaries have refused to answer questions.
Karine Jean-Pierre, or KJP as she is often called, has come off at times as aggressive or angry with reporters. But to refuse to answer this question, going as far as to leave the room, will come as a shock to reporters and the public.
It is possible that the administration is in violation of the ADA, by not providing seating for disabled journalists. Americans might consider this ironic, given how Biden discussed this law on the very same day.
Many have blasted this administration and its staff for numerous failures. From train derailments to chaos overseas, critics have blamed Biden and his officials for failing to do the very basics for the American people. This might be a part of that.
