Democrat Leader Sends Biden into a Panic – His New Plan Could Throw 2024 Election into Chaos

Sharing is caring!

Joe Biden is running for a second term in the White House. To date, however, he has done virtually no campaigning. His wife has attended numerous fundraisers. But with only a year before the general election, Biden is seemingly MIA.

Most of the party is behind Joe, despite terrible approval numbers and growing fears about his age. Biden is facing numerous headwinds against his 2024 aspirations. Cornell West is running as a third-party candidate. And Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running as a Democrat in the primaries. Now, yet another Democrat leader could spell trouble for Biden’s second term.

From Axios:
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) said in a podcast released Monday that he’s “considering” challenging President Biden for the Democratic Party’s nomination in 2024…

I am thinking about it. I haven’t ruled it out,” Phillips told political strategist Steve Schmidt on Friday for his podcast, “The Warning.” […]

“I’m concerned that there is no alternative,” he said.

Democrat Rep. Dean Phillips stated he was considering running as a primary candidate against Joe Biden. Phillips has been vocal about his opposition to Biden’s second-term run. He had previously called on Democrats to challenge Biden in the primaries. He has said Biden needs to pass the torch to someone else.

It is likely Phillips is concerned about Biden’s age and electability. Biden has suffered from low approval numbers since 2021. Many critics question his fitness to lead. Phillips might also be worried that the party has no alternative, should Biden pass before Election Day.

The Democrat came short of actually announcing a candidacy. He is on record for saying he wanted Biden to encourage more primary rivals to “promote competition.” Other Democrats have commented on Biden’s election problems, but often in secret or anonymously.

Some had wondered if far-left Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom would run against Biden. The governor has flatly rejected the notion and has recently become something of a cheerleader for the Biden/Harris ticket.
